Paedyn has killed the king and set off a rebellion. Kitt has taken over as king after his father and his first task is to have his brother Kai - the Enforcer - find and capture Paedyn. She needs to pay for her crime.

There's not a lot of action in this book, like it was in the first, but it doesn't mean it isn't good. Paedyn manages to evade Kai for some time, but eventually she has to accept her fate and go with him - unless she wants to kill him. And despite trying to convince herself that she hates him, she just can't do it.

During their journey back to Ilya they both express contempt and scornful comments to each other, but since there's dual POV's we know how they actually fight against the attraction, trying to hate one another. But you can't control your feelings and I like how they open up to each other and risk being vulnerable. Reveals are being made and they both have to revalue their lifes. It will be very interesting to see how it develops in the last book.

We get some chapters from Kitt's POV, but I don't think it adds very much. His plan for Paedyn still comes as a surprise in the end (at least for me) and I'm still not sure how I feel about it.
