The Paris Apartment was a whirlwind. This story had some interesting twists and turns that surprised me and led to a fairly satisfying ending. One could say the flaws of the main character were a primary focus... Jess's inability to investigate Ben's disappearance discreetly annoyed me to no end. The book's writing style was quite superficial, making it easy to read quickly but not very rich or satisfying.
A friend told me that Lucy Foley's novels are "like candy," and I can't disagree - you just want to keep reading and keep reading to see what happens! But, this novel was quite dark and tense, without much redemption in the story. Combined with the source of the mystery revealed, this was a heavy read. Consider the content warnings.
