My Time to Stand: A Memoir by Melissa Moore, Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, Michele Matrisciani

challenging fast-paced

3.0

Super interesting to read this memoir after reading Released earlier this year. As suspected, this was given much more time, thought, and editing... making for a much better read than Released.

As far as the content, it's a lot of the same from Released, press interviews, and the miniseries. I was sort of expecting a bit more, and while there's a few new things revealed, it's nothing monumental.

Generally speaking, Gypsy is continuing to share her story of abuse and trauma, while actively admitting fault and remorse for the murder of her mother. This memoir dives a bit deeper into how she used prison resources and the people around her to heal, own up to her part in it all, and discover who she is today.
