A bit predictable, but engaging AF. Normally my brain has a hard time grasping alternate reality storylines, but this one didn’t lose me. Chalking this up to the book being good, as I think I’m well past personal character development in that area.
I can say that my husband was up until 4am the night he started reading this. I know this because at said 4am, he woke me up, said he was happy he married me, kissed me, then told me to go back to sleep, all without explanation.
And honestly, I’m a gem, so he better be fucking happy.
Also, I listened to the audiobook. Reader did a great job. It did make me chuckle a bit every time he read dialogue from the POV of other characters. Not sure why all these Chicagoans sound like Canadians, but I rolled with it.
