Neptune's Brood by Charles Stross
4.0
(read as ebook)
This is a fun adventure novel, told from first person. The hook is that interstellar trade/finance can't happen faster than light. So takes a long time to verify transactions. The "slow money" that is used to transact between start systems is called Bitcoin. Since no faster than light travel, it is information, including digitized people, who are traded between systems.
Protagonist is a historian of financial scams. World building is a bit clumsy, told in "dear reader" form. But still, thoroughly enjoyable novel with good action an interesting world (characters kind of flat).
