Men Have Called Her Crazy by Anna Marie Tendler
2.5
For memoirs I cannot rate it like I normally would, because how dare I rate their personal story? I do, however rate my reading experience. This books was raw and certainly exposed the darkest moments of Anna’s life as it pertained to her body and her relationship with men, but it read like a fever dream, wandering from “this happened, then that happened” to timeline shifts and the obvious huge narrative gap about her 10 year marriage. Her dog got more airtime than her spouse. It was interesting to see how she wanted readers to consider her life, and overall, it could have been condensed to a more balanced manuscript with careful editing since it tended to wander and distract the reader from the overall point of the memoir.
