How could I not give this a 5⭐️? Examining the history of alcohol from way back and discovering how integral women were in the creating, selling, bootlegging, and promoting of booze was an eye opening read. Once more the patriarchy took what women did and profited from it while keeping them down… astonishing and powerful to read about so many strong women from nuns to trans women who pushed the needle forward in so many incredible ways.
