Lies Sleeping by Ben Aaronovitch
5.0
4.5 Stars
I always like to return to Peter's world in the Rivers of London series. The talk of London is so lovingly, and in Lies Sleeping they spend a lot of time in what I consider 'my' part of London.
The cast of characters has grown since the earlier novels, but the enemy remains the same. While they are getting closer - his identity has been uncovered by now - it's the one thing I don't particularly like in series that are getting a lot of books: they often keep the same villain on too long, with increasingly improbable ways where the villain gets away without the protagonists looking like they are completely incapable.
And not enough Nightingale in this one. But nevertheless, a highly enjoyable seventh book in the series - which I cannot recommend enough. Start at the beginning though.
