Ask Not: The Kennedys and the Women They Destroyed by Maureen Callahan

2.5

Very gossipy book, nothing too introspective, it’s all kind of surface level stuff.

But whew, I wish a disability sensitivity reader had a chance to edit this. Not only did I have to read “differently abled” for the first time ever in a book but the way it’s like Rosemary died when she became severely disabled? Nothing about the decades of a full life she had with loving caregivers. In spite of living longer than most Kennedys her story completely ended in this book with her lobotomy. Rosemary deserved better from her family and she deserves better from writers.
