The Miracles of the Namiya General Store by Keigo Higashino
5.0
100% one of my top-reads this year. The most therapeutic if-hug-was-a-book-its-this kind of read.
The book started off as chaotic intertwisted stories among people living in the same town, the same place where all the miracles of the Namiya General Store happened. The owner, Mr. Namiya, was an old storekeeper who spent most of his last days in making correspondence with people who need his life advice. He wouldn't spare even one of the letters.
This book's a journey about uncovering the mystery of the store and how these miracles helped people navigate from either at life crossroads or dead-ends.
I find all the stories equally heart-warming and inspiring. If you'd ask me to recommend you an easy read that could lift your spirit, this would be it. Everything in the platter of life was creatively and thoughtfully portrayed—following one's dream, family, love, friendship, career, etc. Easy to say, I'm so in love with everything written in this book.
I swear Keigo Higashino is my new literary bestie.
