The Time Paradox: The New Psychology of Time That Will Change Your Life by Philip G. Zimbardo
2.0
(read as ebook)
What's it about?
Written by two phycologists, one whom ran the infamous Stanford prison experiment, the book discuss different orientations one can have towards time. The first half of the book focuses on the time orientations, describing them and how they might influence one's actions and other views. The second half of the book is mismash of self-help advice.
What did I think?
I wasn't a fan. I think that thinking about thinking is interesting and important. Noticing when you are thinking about something and trying to figure out whether you are thinking about the past, present or future and your attitude seems useful. But most of the book is fairly generic self help advice. A lot of it make sense, but hardly seems connected to the central idea of the book. Not a huge fan of how these attitudes are grouped into somewhat artificial categories.
