I am honestly disappointed with this series and this next installment. Spensa is just forever "a pilot" and doesn't seem to really become anything of more substance. There weren't really any major plot developments to truly speak of except at the very end and honestly the build up wasn't thrilling. Compared to the world-building of the Cosmere novels, this definitely fit the YA genre, in that its a little less complex and and geared toward a younger reader.

I think I'm growing away from this series, and that's ok because I still love others from Sanderson. Maybe sci-fi just isn't his genre, idk, it just seems his deep-seeded fantasies are better. This dragged a bit and I just felt unsatisfied. I may not continue this series.
