Idk, the feel when I reading the 1st-2nd book and the 3rd-4th book is sooo different. Honestly, I loved this book, but at the same time, I wanted something more. Like.. something was missing and some aspects of it weren't as interesting as the first two books .

I found the first half of the book so slow and boring. There were so many scenes that I feel like so unnecessary. There was a lot of action in the story but I craved more character interactions. Around the half-way the book starts picked up the pace, and a lot of the storylines came together.

Forget the worldbuilding, I just realized the magic system didn't really has a rule, it just does whatever it want to fit the plot. And some of characters that I like in the first two books become annoying in the last 2 books lol. But something that I unexpectedly enjoyed was the side characters that elevated the story. Musa, Harper, the Tribes, and the whole Kehanni and Fakira concept are so incredible.

The plot was so anticlimatic especially into the ends of the book. I can see some people would understand and would feel it's the right ending for everyone, but in my case I halfly satisfied with it bcs I feel like some of characters deserved better.

Despite of all on the above, though the last book was not a perfect book, I enjoyed the series as a whole. I know I'm very late to hyping the book but I still would recommend the series to you who love fantasy books. It's an emotional series with an exploration on love, hate, forgiveness, war, trauma, colonization, and revenge. Gosh, sometimes I drained myself bcs the characters always suffering, enduring, suffering again, and so on, but it was a good reading experience.
