After feeling ehh about the first book, King of Scars I loved this so much more than expected. I have been wanting to read this for over a year and just now getting to it but I adored it so much!! It was so, so good being back in this world and being back with these characters. I think one of my favorite things about this was all of the little snippets of characters from past books and series in the Grishaverse.

I also adore that potential lead to a third SOC books. I know Leigh Bardugo said she's unsure if it'll happen but like I think it's perfectly left open for it. I think she did a great job of wrapping it up and giving it a nice ending while still leaving it open for other books if desired.

I can definitely understand and see where people might have a problem with this book but I've just been so attached to these books and these characters it was easy for me to love.
