Tunnel of Bones is another quick and exciting installment in the Cassidy Blake series, and I found it to be a worthy sequel that really builds on the foundation laid in the first book. Cassidy, along with her ghost-hunting parents, is once again thrown into the heart of a haunted city, this time in Paris. The unique twist of her abilities to see ghosts brings her into a new set of chilling adventures that keep the story moving at a fast pace.

The story is emotionally charged, with higher stakes for Cassidy and the relationships around her. The tension is real, and there are moments of suspense that kept me hooked. The friendships she navigates and the way her abilities continue to evolve made me appreciate the book even more. It’s clear that Tunnel of Bones offers more than just the usual ghostly thrills; it delves deeper into Cassidy’s emotions and her connection to the spirit world.

Looking back, I can easily imagine how I would have adored this series as a middle grader. It's got the perfect blend of adventure, mystery, and supernatural elements that make it a fun and captivating read. Fans of the first book in the series will definitely find this one to be an improvement, and I’m looking forward to seeing where Cassidy’s journey takes her next!
