i don't think it's for everyone, mostly because it's quite vague. but it's definitely for me! i love a melancholic story about memories, especially when it’s this atmospheric. and the atmosphere is a huge part of the novel, much like with other books by hiromi kawakami. i've always been a huge fan of her writing style, so i'm really not surprised that i loved this. i found it very easy to emotionally connect and sympathise with kei, and i also loved how drawn to manazuru she was. the portrayal of her emotions is amazing, both her more detached moments and the ones of pure desperation. the analysis of her relationship with momo was so so well done as well, really resonated with me. i also thought the writing was lovely ^_^
