Izzy is running late for her new job. After the barista at her coffee shop calls “Amy” for her exact coffee order a couple of times, and no one collects, she takes a chance and takes the coffee. Rushing out the door she crashes into a handsome man, Blake, splashing him with coffee. Apologizing profusely, she rushes out the door. She later learns that Blake is not just a cute guy from the coffee shop, but her new boss and the VP of the company. Blake has no patience for liars and doesn’t trust that Izzy doesn’t lie all the time, rather than this one time.
This is is a cute, easy to read rom-com. Blake and Izzy have great banter and really seem to like each other. Blake is a perfect book boyfriend/cat daddy. He may initially be angry with Izzy, but they seem to work it out and I love the friendship they develop. Izzy is a complete opposite to Blake. Where he is stern and organized she is wild and aloof. She adds a little wildness to Blake’s life, and convinces him to ease up a bit.
This was a cute, light hearted story, and they seemed to have some great banter. For me it just needed a bit of a punch to push it above and beyond. There is a third act break-up and I think that is resolved a little to easily and nicely in the end.
If you like a cute and sweet story, this is the one for you! It is a quick, easy read and has some llaugh-out-loudmoments. Thank you to Berkley Romance for a free copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.
