I decided to reread this to refresh my memory before reading the Stolen Heir and oh man. This was just as good as I remembered, if not even more so now that I knew the ending already. Seeing the clues and being able to put the puzzle pieces together before Jude did? Absolutely incredible. And Jude my queen I am still obsessed with you <3

Jude thinking “I am grateful that Cardan has five more worthy brothers and sisters; it’s practically guaranteed that he’ll never sit on the throne. ” in the beginning of the book made me chuckle. Okay girl whatever you say LMAO

I LOVED THIS BOOK. My absolute favourite part was that all characters were so complex. Not even the main character Jude was all good. She was so unhinged and I am absolutely obsessed with her because of it. They all had so much depth and it was so interesting to read and discover more about all of them. And the plot twist at the end! Jude is so cunning, I was so deadset on her following the plan that I did not see it coming at all.
