Let’s talk about the audiobook for a minute–
Tell Me why Stephen Dexter is the PERFECT voice of Roman Hammerstein? Stephen Dexter paired with Stella Bloom was just perfection to bring this couple to life. This book is a bit of a slow burn but the longing and desire was so evident in their performance.
Back to the book–
Helena Hunting is the hockey romance GOAT. She was my first introduction to the genre with Pucked and my love affair just never stopped. This woman is an incredible writer and has mastered weaving in characters/teams/jokes from previous books and series without shoving it in the reader's face like “GET IT! GET IT, BECAUSE IN THAT ONE BOOK THIS HAPPENED?!” and it’s also done in a way that you’re not missing out if you haven’t read her previous work but it’s just something special for the reader if you know what I mean.
This may be my favorite book of the entire series. There are so many things I want to say about this book and couple but they’re all coming out as squeals in my head. Not helpful. Just know that this couple is EVERYTHING. Roman is such a problem solver in the cutest way. Lexi is so smart and driven and just trying to hold it all together. I absolutely loved this book and want everyone to read this series so we can discuss.
