Missing by Kelley Armstrong
5.0
WARNING FOR ANIMAL DEATH.
This book was just what I needed right now.
I know it doesn't look like it what with it taking me four days but if I'm honest...I only really read it during the last two. Oops.
Anyway Missing is the latest YA offering from Kelley Armstrong and it's another thriller. I picked this up now as Kelley Armstrong is one of my favourite authors so I knew I'd enjoy it.
The book has a creepy vibe without getting too gross and is so easy to read. Winter and Jude's relationship is so fun to read and was the sort of ship I wanted right now. The book has a lot of dark issues in the background with alcoholism, hit and runs, suicide and a question of whether certain characters suffer from ABD or not. All together it made for a really dark read that still somehow made me smile a lot.
My only issue with this book was the pointless deaths of the feral dogs. I know why they were used but I hate animal death and each one genuinely upset me.
Their use as threats along with everything else was perfect though which is why I haven't dropped the rating. This is a genuinely good thriller, one that fans of adult thrillers can also enjoy as its not treated gently or dumbed down as Armstrong knows her teenage readers won't like that.
But anyway 5/5 and would definitely recommend.
