This is the second book of his I've read, and I can't tell if he tries to deliver a genuinely scary folk-horror or a somewhat lazy morality story with a folk-horror veil. This one felt more like the first option, and 3/4 of it genuinely creeped me out, so I'm rounding up my rating.
