The queen ain't fucking around!
I absolutely devoured this book. When I first saw she was doing a spinoff, I was surprised it wasn't Hannon. Breene is an instant buy author for me and I trust her writing style. Trust the process! Hers in genius.
I. Love. Weston. End of. The cinnamon roll alpha who knots like his life depends on it 😂. The primal aspect to his personality. The fierce protector.
Aurelia reminded me of myself in my early 20s. Deeply stubborn, a little naive, getting herself into trouble but meaning well.
And well, Hadriel doing Hadriel things. One of my all-time favorite side characters is back!
The best thing about Breene's writing is how thoroughly she can suck you into a story, cackling one second, then getting serious the next. I loved this story specifically because of the character development.
It's rare to find authors who make you fall in love with characters as quickly as Breene does. It's a gift.
When a lot of books nowadays feel like they're just checking off tropes in a formulaic manner instead of telling a story, they're an immediate DNF for me. Breene effortlessly does this. The spice is spicin' but not detracting from the storyline. Honestly it pulls you into their relationship more.
I received an ARC for this book and am part of Breene's street team. That being said, this review is honest and unbiased. She really is that good.
