It's no secret that I love Lily Morton's books, so it won't surprise anyone that I adored this one as well. I was incredibly happy to receive an ARC for Jed & Artie's story because I've been waiting for it for quite some time now and ohhh it was so lovely.
First off, I love this group of characters. The Confetti Hitched crew is all kinds of wonderful (Joe will always be my favorite), but we also got a cameo from Mal and Cadan (from Spring Strings) which made my heart happy because those two are amazing! Definitely makes me think a re-read of their book is in order.
The stars of the book are, of course, Jed and Artie. I loved them both, truly. They're so good for each other and I'm a bit of a sucker for the fake marriage trope because it's usually a lot of fun. I loved soft-hearted Artie who quietly loved Jed so much. And I also loved Jed, who's such a caretaker at heart, even if he frustrated me at times. I wish he'd gotten his head on straight a bit sooner where his feelings for Artie were concerned, but honestly? It's easily forgotten because the rest is just so very very good.
Absolutely loved it, highly recommend it. I don't know if there are more books to come in this series, but I'll read anything Lily blesses us with so either way I'll be happy.
