The Green Mile, Part 3: Coffey's Hands by Stephen King

3.0

Type of read: Weekend/Lunch time read.

What made me pick it up: King is a favorite of mine and at a recent visit to our McKay's Bookstore I found the entire 'The Green Mile' series in all of its beautiful short story glory.

Overall rating: I feel like 'Coffey's Hands' might be one of the more anticlimactic portions of the overall Green Mile story but it gives you some much-needed backstory to both Coffey and Paul Edgecomb. With less than 100 pages, this was a quick read, and much like its predecessors in the series, it kept me looking forward to more of the book. I'm really enjoying the format of the short stories. I can only imagine what it would have been like to take them in as they were published, having to wait for the next installment before knowing the rest of the story.

Reader's Note: I also fully admit, I know I'm biased when it comes to books by Stephen King, they have been and always will be a favorite of mine. They are one of the first authors I look for when we go to bookstores and I absolutely love the fact that many of their books can perfectly fit on my person (either in my pocket, purse, or backpack) for everyday and extended travel.
