Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

okay WOW I'm so so glad that I didn't let the size of this book deter me from finally picking it up.
I'm pretty sure I went through every single emotion known to man while reading this book. After finishing it, I promptly bought my own copy. A good book makes me want to know more and more about what I maybe missed or didn't initially understand right away, and I know that that is what I'll be doing for the next few days. I thought I knew enough about Japanese and Korean relations, but this opened up my eyes to so much more that I ignorantly didn't know about Japanese occupation, as well as the horrors of war and what impact that has on generations of people afterwards. The way women were treated back then, as well as what a strong hold family and culture has on people and society?!? PHEWWW. please read this if you haven't!

ALSO MY 50th BOOK THIS YEAR WOO
