The Snowman by Jo Nesbø

This book had everything I wanted in a suspense thriller! You have your flawed main detective, Harry Hole, who came across as this recovering alcoholic James Bond/Sherlock Holmes type. The setting is Norway in winter and this serial killer called the Snowman has resurfaced and displays his victims using snowmen as his inspiration (think carrot replaces human nose) - very gruesome. There are so many dimensions to numerous characters, to the point where they think they’ve solved it 4-5 times throughout the book, but it’s all just layers to the onion! I did not predict the identity of the serial killer.

There was also quite a bit of action in the book which made me want to watch the movie but… don’t bother. It was bad.

I did listen on audiobook and was able to follow but it wasn’t an “easy” audiobook read as there were so many characters.
