Trick Mirror: Reflections on Self-Delusion by Jia Tolentino

Accessible, resonant, entertaining commentary about contemporary American (pop) culture. In particular, this book describes the experience of millennial womanhood in a way that is at once individual and deeply universal. This book articulates the ineffable social and cultural phenomena that shape our day-to-day realities as humans, as Americans, as millennials, as women. My favorite essays were "The I in the Internet," "Always Be Optimizing," and "Ecstasy."
