"If a dragon has already selected you, they'll be calling. So pay attention to not just your surroundings but your feelings, and go with them. And if your feelings are telling you to go in the other direction... listen to that, too."

This book has been recommended by so many people, I just couldn't keep myself from reading it anymore. So many people telling me I will absolutely love it and it is the best book they ever read. And finally, I gave in and together with @mostly.macabre.bookworm I went on an adventure in Basgiath and boy, was it an adventure 😂

Let me first tell you, yes, I did like the book a lot. I don't think there is a book on this earth with Dragons I won't like! However, I do think it is slightly over-hyped in my opinion. Let me explain.

What I absolutely loved about this book was the constant action and there never being a dull moment. I also absolutely fell in love with Violet. Even though she is at a huge disadvantage with her condition, she is strong willed, has an iron resolve and is extremely smart! She uses every Asset at her disposal to get to where she wants to be, and I fucking love a strong female character. The hierarchy between the humans and dragons is also amazing and communication between the the two is also interesting.

Now, to what bothered me sometimes: Most things, if not almost everything that happened was predictable. There were barely any moments where I was shocked at something that happened. And the book being set in 1 location mainly made it feel like there was little world building possible and it started to become repetitive after a while. Lastly, the relationship between Violet and Xaden had me on edge more than once (but that is more a me problem 😂)

However, again, I really liked this book and I can't wait to dive in Iron Flame with Ashley to continue the adventure! Thank you for making this a very enjoyable journey!
