Wake Up And Open Your Eyes was a horrifyingly real story that hit so close to home with the Trump administration. This book was fantastically written and the author handled the issues surrounding the US's turn towards the alt right directly, which I really appreciate. The author did not mince words and as much as the book criticized conservatives, it gave almost as much responsibility towards white liberals who let it happen.
It was one of the most visceral and grounded horror books I have ever read and it's truly fantastic! Incredible description of the indoctrination process and how the alt right gets to people. As a terrified Canadian watching the US from the outside, it was a sickly cathartic reading experience and offered a way to work through my fears using a fictionalized version of what's going on.
I 100% recommend Wake Up And Open Your Eyes and the audiobook was 10/10
