This is a classic example of how the cover would have usually had me running away from this book and yet I thoroughly loved it. Not that there's anything wrong with the young man on the cover - lovely looking chap - I've just been wrongly led to believe such covers make for stories that lack substance, structure, suspense and significance, and all of these things and much more were in this book. (I actually think the author published the book with more than one cover for those who wanted something more discreet but I'm now inclined to just tell myself to get over my own silly hang ups that no doubt have their roots in internalised misogyny!).

A kind note, be sure to read about trigger warnings before reading as it gets heavy in many places.
