Mrs Death Misses Death by Salena Godden
5.0
Like most things I love, I'm absolutely terrible at explaining why. Here, it's something to do with how electric, alive and refreshing the book felt. It's the swirling fusion of poetry, prose, philosophy, music, social commentary, mental health, humour and existential dread and hope that's about both big and small things all at the same time. I'm not going to pretend I absorbed or understood all of it, but it felt special and like it had tapped into the essence of the universe, and I expect I will return to it again in the not too distant future.
