DNF at 33%

I went into this completely clueless about the story. I didn't even read the blurb. I just saw that several of my friends here were going to do a buddy read so I figured what the heck, I wanted in too.

Unfortunately, it didn't really work for me. It wasn't so much the religious cult thing going on that bothered me, but the forbidden aspect between two characters who were so young (and adorable)—yes, being 25, everyone at the age of 17-18 are practically kids to me. :)) OK, maybe it wasn't exactly that even. The fact is, it just wasn't what I was looking for at the moment, and it didn't keep me from getting distracted and doing something else. Also, the old creepy guy made it worse!

I have to say though that the writing is beautiful. To be honest, I was never interested in Mia Sheridan's previous books for some reason or another, but I can appreciate and respect great writing when I see it. However, this was just not for me. I've seen a lot of 5 star ratings though so this could work for you too. :)
