I started this book because I wanted to compare it to the film. I hated this book when I started it: it was cringey, I didn't root for any of the characters, I wasn't engrossed in the story at all. I put the book down and told myself I'd probably never come back to it.
Somehow I picked it up again and actually finished the book? I still didn't root for any of the characters as I felt they were pretty one dimensional most of the time, but I still kind of got into the book as well. I gasped when *things* happened, I laughed when I called out a plot point before the characters realised it, and I loved Alyssa and Marshall.
I don't like this book, I wouldn't recommend this book, and I wouldn't ever read it again. But, I am still adult enough to admit that it was not the worst book I have read. There were parts that did grip me and lines I really liked, but they were ultimately overshadowed by everything I didn't like about the book.
