This was a good dip into sci-fi from back in the day. Feels pulpy, but also hard sci-fi. Even goes mystical in some parts and there's a lot of sex and chauvinism. Yes, definitely shows its age. If you can look past that, it's a gripping tale and you can see where the Halo games took their inspiration from.
