I actually read Ender's Shadow first. Not sure how that happened, I believe I was in middle school and my mom bought it for me. For years, I didn't even realize Ender's Shadow wasn't a standalone book, and wasn't even the original storyline! I'm not sure if it was because of the order in which I read it or what, but I actually prefer Ender's Shadow to the original. I wonder if I'm alone in this.
