The Aspern Papers and Other Stories by Henry James, Adrian Poole

3.0

Only read The Aspern Papers, which is a pretty good meditation on how tourism and celebrity was changing in the late-19c. as Byron and Venice became synonymous. James does a lot of quite clever stuff without being Massively polemic.

Ultimately, it's pre-1900 prose so nothing hugely interesting but well done at what it aims to do and with moments of Interesting Insight - nailed on 3.
