Wow I loved this book. You could easily say that the MMC, a cowboy who overuses the pet name “Sugar” is problematic, but I will hear no criticisms. I was obsessed from start to finish with Clementine, aka Emmy, and her brother’s best friend, Luke.

I’ve never been more busy in a 24 hour period, yet SOMEHOW I found the time to start and finish this book. I literally did my regular 9-5 job and taught my class after work, and still absolutely devoured this book.

What a treat. The banter. The secret. The LACK of a 3rd act breakup? MY IDEAL BOOK. Top to bottom, I’m obsessed.

*Addendum on a re-read*
This couple makes my heart flutter, my feet kick, and my whole body scream. Emmy and Brooks are delicious. I just devoured their story so quickly because I love when one character shows up and makes a safe space for the other. And Brooks doing that for Emmy is just delicious.

Repeat shout out to my girl Lyla Sage for being a staunch believer that the couple should stay together (even if they encounter road blocks), she’s a real one for that. 💕
