A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
5.0
Wow, this is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time.
A good girls guide to murder follows Pip, as she works to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of a teenage girl, 5 years ago. Her boyfriend was blamed for her murder, but is that what really happened?
As an avid thriller reader, I didn’t think I’d be able to come across a book that was really unique. However, this is the most original thriller I have ever read. I loved the use of multi-media to help bring the case and story to life. It really made me feel like I was playing detective alongside Pip. Although I did figure out some of the twists, there were many that left me shocked and reeling. I fell completely in love with Ravi’s sense of humour and his banter with Pip!
This book made me feel so many emotions, both elation and heartache. I laughed and I came close to tears. Holly Jackson’s writing is sublime and fast paced. Near the end of the book I often found myself sitting literally on the end of my seat. The tension was palpable and addictive. I will definitely be picking up the rest in this series and will read them as soon as possible!!
I would recommend this to any thriller fans, however, this is written for a young adult audience, if this is not your thing then this book might not be for you. I want to thank Tandem Collective, Electric Monkey Publishers and Holly Jackson for allowing me to read this book and give my personal thoughts.
