Absolutely loved this book. Distressingly prescient—out of everything, the one that stuck out to me most was the spot-on prediction of exoplanet detection patterns, despite being published just after the very first such detection. Lauren's religion, which the book is sort of about, struck me as secular humanism and Daoism puréed together, with possibly a bit of Buddhism thrown in.
Perhaps the best part, though, was Lauren's growth, as she went from a sheltered but aware teen to a refugee to, basically, a cult leader (though so far Earthseed doesn't quite match the more modern definition of a cult).
Overall, on par with the Xenogenesis trilogy for me. I only wish it had had a better copyeditor; there were enough wrong words/typos/misspellings that it was mildly distracting.
