I've read a lot of WWII historical fiction, but I loved the different perspective on this one. Instead of focusing on the concentration camps, it told the story of western-Europe and the changes that went into society during the war. The back and forth between present day and the past with characters intertwined was especially good too. A little slow to start, but after a few chapters it picked up! Overall, definitely one I'll keep on my shelf for a re-read.
