Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
1.0
DNF/5 Stars: ‘Sorcery of Thorns’ by Margaret Rogerson.
→ Age Range: Young Adult.
→ Genre: Romance, Magical Fantasy.
→ Trigger Warnings: Forced Psychiatric Institutionalisation, Anxiety, Violence.
In-depth Rating:
→ Plot: ★
→ Character Development: ★
→ Setting: ★
→ Entertainment Level: ★
→ Writing: ★
General Comments: An enthralling adventure replete with spell-binding characters, a slow-burning love story and a world worth staying lost in. With a fairly narrow scope, it is not difficult to intuit the direction of the plot; it does however, plant plenty of action-packed obstacles for our prickly protagonists. For a book about books, it simply felt bland, but the touch of wry humour was appreciated.
Favourite Quote: ‘It was always wise to be polite to books, whether or not they could hear you.’
Time Read: Thirteen Days (DNF @ Page 135).
→ Audiobook: No.
→ Audiobook Narrator: -
