The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

4.0

This was a lovely quick read. It wasn't what I expected, but not in a bad way. The way in which Jackson uses horror/terror is truly unique. She quite cleverly withholds details allowing the reader to fill in the gaps with their own imagination, which is one of my favorite devices. This was on my list for a long time and I'm glad I finally got around to it.
