The flip between first, second, and third person POV takes getting used to, and overall the novel felt long because of the zig-zaggy way the story unfolds. It’s beautifully written and the characters are compelling, but I never felt fully emotionally invested in either of the MCs.  I may’ve enjoyed this more if my hold of the physical copy came through before my audiobook hold did, because the changes in narration and asides from the secondary characters may’ve made more sense if I’d seen it on a page. The audiobook narrator, Joel de la Fuente, absolutely bodied this performance, and look forward to listening to other books he’s narrated.
