I liked this better than the previous book, I think. Maybe because Alex and Dawes are more proactive. Maybe because there's fewer jumps in time. But also maybe because there's no longer as much absolutely gratuitous dark and edgy, explicit descriptions, as if to prove that this is an adult book, not YA. So I liked this better. The inclusion of Tripp and Turner was fun too, and Mercy is always great. I am actually looking forward to the next book in the series, which I didn't expect when I was a hundred pages in.
