It took me so long to get through this book. Genuinely years. I would pick it up and put it down every few months, but I finally finished !!!

IT (2017) is probably my favourite movie of all time, which is why I felt so distant from the novel, but I am very frustrated I didn’t finish this earlier. Although this is an incredibly slow story, you get to know every character in such a deep and personal way that I feel is often neglected in the horror genre. There is so much emotion and thought in every page, and I was sad to see these characters go.

However, the ending did feel quite rushed and maybe a bit anticlimactic considering there’s about 800+ pages building up to it. I think the book deserved more in comparison to the movies.

Even though the book is so very dear to me, I couldn’t quite give it 5 stars because of how long it took me to read. If I had read it in a shorter time I would have enjoy this more so entirely my fault!
