A Werewolf's Guide To Seducing a Vampire by Sarah Hawley

3.0

Thank you so much to Berkeley Romance, Netgalley, and PRH Audio for the free advanced copies! All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

I have really enjoyed this series of quirky small town paranormal beings. This is set in the same mystical small town where a huge variety of paranormal beings live and thrive.

This 3rd installment follows the best friend and coworker of the heroine from book 1. He is a shy werewolf who doesn't love being a werewolf. He prefers his quiet controlled life owning a plant store.

But when everyone around him is settling down, he begins to feel lonely. And in a drunk state, orders a plastic amulet that supposedly holds the perfect girlfriend.

Turns out the stone does hold someone - a feisty, vengeful vampire succubus who just wants her freedom. And maybe some revenge on the witch who trapped her.

This has the same humor and lightheartedness of the first two books. It's quirky and silly and overall just a fun book to read.

Unfortunately this was my least favorite of the group. And I think part of that had to do with the audiobook. The narrator did an... odd... accent for the heroine that took me out of the story each and every time. It was too much in my opinion and it really impacted my enjoyment and attachment to the heroine.

Plus I felt like this story just dragged out longer than it needed to with a few too many plot points. Not only are we following the entrapment of the heroine, but the hero is also helping his sister run for mayor, as well as track down the witch, as well work through is busy schedule, as well as...

And I felt like it took away from the romance itself. Since it meant less time with them together and more time watching them work on other people's problems.

While it's not my favorite of the series, I do think that this is a fun series worth picking up. The humor and lighthearted aspect makes it a fun take of paranormal romance. And each of the romances are really sweet.

And I'm hoping we get at least one more book for the final person in the friend group!
