For Your Own Good by Samantha Downing

5.0

Holy sh*t! What an incredible read yet again by the utterly spellbinding Samantha Downing! After preordering my copy of For Your Own Good with sheer excitement of what was to come, I certainly was not disappointed! Having read My Lovely Wife and He Started It, this book is nothing alike. The writing style is completely different with multiple character voices being spoken within the same chapter. At first this threw me off a little as most books I’ve read have had a new chapter for a new character. Not here though, and yet it works brilliantly. It builds up the pace of the story which is very clever because there aren’t many twists as such to be left up to the imagination. This is due to the characters each being in the know to some extent, and letting the reader in on what has happened or is about to happen. So the way the author has used the characters narrative to keep the pace and build the tension is truly superb. This is not your typical thriller, but it is certainly a book you will not want to put down!
