ok so to start, i have never been a fantasy girl. something about things that could 100% never happen in life makes me bored, but this book was rly rly rly good. i was super engaged the whole book and i was able to follow the plot line as well as understand the society they are living in. honestly, the plot twist at the end wasn’t super surprising to me, just because i was only partially understanding Jude’s logic at that point. i think i would’ve loved the twist more, if i understood her strategy. only thing i would note is that despite what booktok says, this is not a romance. there are a few subplots involving romance, but this book is not romance by any means (which i like but some ppl may not). needless to say i ordered the other two books in the series as soon as i finished this one.
