The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty
5.0
WOWWW Kingdom of Copper beating second book syndrome. At the heart of this sequel is a political fantasy with more delicious scheming, court intrigue, and a Dara POV (which I appreciate cause I think I needed more from him to be more invested in him as a character). I really enjoyed the pacing of this book, the fight scenes, and battles were so well done. AHHHHHH SA Chakraborty knows how to weave in multiple plot lines and tie them together in a way that just makes you gasp and makes you want to reread just to find the hints! As well as subverting expectations. The plot twists and reveals AND MORE WORLDBUILDING! If you wanted more elemental magic, history, and lore you’ll get it in this book. It took everything I liked in City of Brass and just pushed it even further.
Anyways I ate up every Nahri and Ali scene, their dynamic means everything to me. He’s my book bf fr like
