By far, this is the best book on the series.

It has everything I couldn't in a finale - politics, battles, romance, and strategizing. I almost admire Lada for her forgiveness and unwavering loyalty to Wallachia. Radu was interesting and I can really see how he's grown as a character. I'm glad that this third book wasn't all about the battles be included betrayals left and right.

The twist about Lada being pregnant though . . . I saw it coming as soon as she said she was throwing up but the good wasn't poisoned. I also knew that the child wasn't Bogdan's.

I enjoyed the ending as well - with Lada, Radu, and Mehemed all getting somewhat happy endings. Lada being dead in my the law chapter was a little depressing.

Overall, this my favorite book by Kiersten White that I have read.
